Reigning MotoGP world champion Honda rider Marc Marquez will not take to the track again this season. In July the Spaniard broke his shoulder bone.
At the end of August it was reported that the 27-year-old motorcycle racer will need a few more months to recover. But it is now known that Marquez will not take part in any more races this season.
Repsol Honda rider Stephan Bradl has announced that he will be taking over from Marquez at the start of the remaining three stages of the season. The 30-year-old German has replaced the six-time world champion in previous MotoGP rounds.
“I will finish the season in Marquez’s place, they let me know that. I don’t know if I can tell it, but those are the facts. Mark has to take care of his health now. To risk for the sake of one or two stages just makes no sense”, – Brädl says Servus TV.
Marquez was injured back at the first stage of the season at the Spanish Jerez. Then he broke his arm, and a week later he aggravated the injury, trying to get back on track.
