Highway-ring racing is a trend that includes 2 types of racing at once, where the main difference is motorcycles. There are the most prestigious – MotoGP – the highest class, like “Formula 1”, it uses motorcycles that are not found on sale, but are designed specifically for racing. “Superbike” – held by almost the same rules as MotoGP, but here they use mass-produced models of sports motorcycles. As for the device of the race, you need to know three rules:
- The duration of the race is specified in the number of laps and depends on the class of motorcycles involved.
- The start is made simultaneously from the starting grid. Positions are determined by the results of qualifying laps, in the credit goes to the minimum time of a lap.
- For the first place is awarded the highest point – 25 points, and for the last – only 1. There are 15 teams, each with two competitors.
Races use special bikes that cannot be ridden on public roads. We have no headlights, turn signals or mirrors. Moreover, all of them are specially modified for the track – skirts, fenders, engines, all this is designed in such a way that the equipment was the lightest and most powerful, could reach speeds of 300 km / h and above in a matter of seconds. For MotoGP all the bikes are designed from scratch as formula cars, and in Superbike you can buy the factory model and finalize it for a special technical regulation. The same motorcycles are used in the national championships.
